What are biochar carbon credits?

Each biochar carbon credit represents the removal of one tonne of CO₂ from the atmosphere and permanently sequestering it to the soil. Heartyculture’s credits adhere to Carbon Standards International protocols, using digital Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (dMRV) and third-party audits for validation.

Who produces the biochar in our project?

We work with partners and rural entrepreneurs who work with farmers to produce biochar from farm residue using sustainable, traceable methods.

How does biochar benefit farmers?

Farmers apply biochar on their farms to improve soil fertility, water retention, crop yield and income. Our goal is to provide biochar free of charge to all farmers and regenerate the soils of India from your purchase of carbon credits.

How are we different from other carbon credit projects?
